The 1985 Haut-Brion has attained full maturity and is a magnificently delicious, quintessential Haut-Brion that shows the most savory aspect of this beautiful, finessed-styled wine. The color is a rich ruby/garnet with slight edge fading. The nose bursts from the glass with cedar, dried herbs, smoke, creosote, and black cherries, plums, and currants. It has a velvety texture and nicely integrated alcohol, acidity, and tannin in the mouth. It is round, intense, medium to full bodied, with a velvety texture and beautifully integrated alcohol, acidity, and tannin. What a beauty!
